Class and Year Head Tutor

The Role of the Tutor

The tutor takes on the role of caring for a class group in order to promote learning at every level of the person.   The main role of the tutor is to build a relationship with the students under his/her care.  In building this relationship, each tutor advises and guides all of his/her students.  As part of the tutor’s duties, the tutor regularly checks journals, observes progress and consults with subject teachers to alleviate any source of difficulty.  In doing so, the tutor monitors his/her students’ academic performance, participation and discipline in Westland Row, CBS.

All communication from parents should initially be directed to the student’s tutor.  Parents are encouraged to maintain good communication with the tutor, notifying him/her of information regarding their children that will help the student’s education and progress in the school.  Appointments may be made with the tutor to discuss issues of concern to both parents and teachers.
